WASHINGTON POST WON’T PRINT LETTER TO THE EDITOR regarding wi spa
July 8, 2021
I submitted the following letter to the editor at 9:45 a.m. on July 6.
The letter addressed this piece - a prime example of propaganda, used to gaslight the entire world into thinking that a person with a penis can be some type of woman.
My letter conformed to all of the Washington Post’s LTE requirements (word limit, timeliness, etc.).
Now, more than forty-eight hours later, I have received no response, and the letter has not been published.
I understand that the Washington Post is under no obligation to print every letter to the editor that they receive. I have submitted countless letters to various publications that went unpublished. It comes with the territory.
Still, the Post has an obligation to report fairly.
According to its own policies and standards:
”Fairness
Reporters and editors of The Post are committed to fairness. While arguments about objectivity are endless, the concept of fairness is something that editors and reporters can easily understand and pursue. Fairness results from a few simple practices: No story is fair if it omits facts of major importance or significance. Fairness includes completeness.
No story is fair if it includes essentially irrelevant information at the expense of significant facts. Fairness includes relevance.
No story is fair if it consciously or unconsciously misleads or even deceives the reader. Fairness includes honesty — leveling with the reader.
No story is fair if it covers individuals or organizations that have not been given the opportunity to address assertions or claims about them made by others. Fairness includes diligently seeking comment and taking that comment genuinely into account.”
The story covering the Wi Spa incident failed completely in that regard.
Here is the letter that the Post chose not to print:
“Regarding the July 5 piece, “A trans woman undressed in a spa. Customers said they were ‘traumatized,’ and a protest ensued.” This piece is propaganda.
This is a story about women and girls who were exposed to a grown naked man in a women’s spa and complained about it to staff. A video of the incident went viral and a protest did, indeed, ensue. Vicious antifa protesters attacked people who went to the spa to stand up for the protection of women-only spaces.
The truth is that it IS lawful for a man to be in a women’s section of a spa. California law allows any man to be in any women’s space at any time, on the basis of his “gender identity.” Washington D.C., where I live, has a similar law in place. I once encountered a man in a women’s restroom in a D.C. restaurant.
“Two customers said they — and two girls who were present — were ‘traumatized’ after seeing the transgender woman’s genitals.” The correct word is penis.
Until we all stand up and speak out for female-only spaces, this will keep happening. In the meantime, accurate reporting would be welcome.
Kara Dansky, Washington D.C. Democrat”
Meanwhile, here is what Sall Grover (of Giggle fame) had to say about the piece on Twitter (posting with permission):
Locker room talk indeed.
